In 1968, Prince George’s was one of the fastest growing counties in Maryland such that the members of the Severn Baptist Association felt it best to invite churches within Prince George’s County and those in the Washington, D.C. area where there D.C. and Prince George’s County lines connect to consider having their own Association. This foresight birthed The Prince George’s Baptist Association. The Prince George’s Baptist Association is currently comprised of over 80 churches located in Prince George’s County, Anne Arundel County and Washington, D.C. We exists is to:
(a). Encourage a vital and growing fellowship between churches so that our shared experiences in faith and practice may serve to strengthen and inspire one another in our Christian commitment and our service to the Lord;
(b). Give and receive assistance, one to another, in planning, organizing, promoting and improving our ability and efficiency in carrying our the commission of our Lord. To help lead all people to discipleship and to teach the requirements of discipleship in all of life;
(c). Seek out specific needs for evangelism, missions and ministry within our Association area and to enlist individual churches or group of churches to meet these needs; and
(d). Strive to promote communication and needed relationship between our Association and the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware and the Southern Baptist Convention and to interpret the Southern Baptist programs and methodology to the churches of the Association.
